At some stage I will expand on this situation a bit. Audition has some of the track manipulation tools available (like the one mentioned above) but there are also some simple recombining situations that people run into that don't exist within the software. Fortunately there are a few other free tools that can give you rather more flexibility with multichannel reassignment, and I will provide details. As you may have gathered, I've run into a few problems with this myself...
