Premiere Elements 11 fails to export to Facebook
After watching the incremental bar reach 100 percent following the upload to Facebook and watching the brief transfer process that follows, I receive a notification of Unknown Error. The upload fails. This happens when I have edited 1920 x1080i AVCHD files and choose the Facebook PAL HD export option (at 1280x720 resolution).
The same thing happened when I used to edit standard definition files captured from Mini DV tapes in Premiere Elements 10. After watching the full upload and transfer to Facebook, the process failed with the same error message.
Allowing Adobe Premiere Elements through my Windows firewall has not helped.
My work-around has been to export to a computer folder in 1920x1080i resolution, then import to Facebook from there, rather than exporting from any video editing program. The trouble is that I have to tell Facebook viewers that to see my videos in high definition they have to click Play, hover at bottom right, then click “HD”. If they do not do this, the resolution seems VERY low, with lots of noise. The quality is excellent in HD.
By the way, I would export to a computer folder at 1280x720 if that resolution was offered by PE11.
I cannot find any settings to change in Firefox, Avast or PE11, nor any further settings to change in Windows Firewall.
Does anybody think that, when opening a new project, setting the preference Render at Maximum Bits could set me up to fail?
My system: 64-bit Windows 8.1 Update 1, Premiere Elements 11, Firefox, Avast Free, Windows Firewall (with PE11 allowed through), all updates in place, including FlashPlayer PlugIn, ActiveX and Java.
